Tokenized Stocks are digital assets within the cryptocurrency ecosystem that are pegged at a 1:1 ratio to the underlying share price of companies in traditional capital markets (such as Apple, Tesla, or Google).
Through tokenization, traditional equity trading mechanisms are integrated into the blockchain network. Rather than purchasing physical share certificates through conventional brokerages, users acquire digital tokens that represent the market value of those specific shares.
The introduction of these assets provides several strategic advantages:
- Fractional Ownership: Investors can own assets in smaller units. For example, you can buy 0.01 units of a token if the price of a full share is considered too high.
- 24/7 Trading: Unlike conventional stock exchanges (NYSE or BEI) which have limited operating hours, Tokenized Stocks can be traded 24 hours a day without interruption.
- Global Accessibility: Makes it easier for investors to gain exposure to global markets without the complex procedures of opening international brokerage accounts.
- Transaction Efficiency (T+0): All transactions are settled in real-time and can be withdrawn at any time without banking bureaucracy. This differs from the traditional stock system, which has a settlement lag of 1–2 business days (T+2).
